Visitors must show government -issued ID to  sign in and obtain a Visitor’s pass whenever visiting any of the schools in the district during the day from the Main Office

Visitors are required to show a government issued ID (driver's license) to gain access to the building. In addition, they should expect to answer questions regarding their identity, purpose, and destination of the visit. After obtaining access they will be issued a visitor's identification label, which must be worn at all times while in the school or on school grounds. The visitor must sign in/out at the main office before entering/ leaving the building. Passes will be collected prior to their departure. Visitors who wish to enter the building are asked to enter through the front doors at all times. A camera and intercom are located to the left of the front doors. After identification is made through the intercom/camera, the visitor will proceed to the staff assigned to the visitor's sign-in areaAll visitors are expected to abide by the rules for public conduct on school property contained in the Code of Conduct.

Volunteering at Charlotte Avenue

We warmly welcome parents, guardians, and grandparents to participate in your child(ren)’s education.  There is much research that shows that this involvement is critical to student success.  Volunteer opportunities include volunteering in the classroom or with the PTSA.

Parents, guardians, and grandparents wishing to volunteer during the school day are asked to  watch a volunteer training video and sign off on the expectations that the district has prior to their first time volunteering. Please contact Candy Ditkowski ([email protected]) or Molly Fyfe ([email protected]) for this information.  Principals have a formal approval process for making recommendations to the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education and it is needed for anyone wishing to volunteer on a regular basis in our schools. This process has to be completed annually.
