Our School

July 1, 2019

Dear Parents,

During the last week of school we held our annual “Scholastic Reading Summer Challenge Assembly”. Please check your child’s backpack from the last week of school for their personal pass code that can be used to log in their summer reading minutes. Let’s keep this trend growing and read, read, read! When we return in September we will host a “Welcome Back to School Assembly” and all of our summer readers will be celebrated. Prizes are given to the top readers for each grade level as well as overall top readers.

In addition to reading we encourage you to have your children maintain a routine of  reviewing their math facts. Web sites, such as Raz Kids and IXL Math, are engaging and your children are familiar with them.

Over the summer children tend to lose some of what they have learned and working a little each day over the summer will decrease the summer slide. Whatever method of review you choose will help your child be successful in the new school year.

Many parents ask about class placements. As we have done in the past, letters will go out in mid- August. Class placements are carefully organized and reviewed. It is the goal of the committee to create classrooms that are balanced and thoughtful of individual student needs.

From everyone at CAS, we hope you have a wonderful fun-filled summer. September will be here before you know it, so enjoy your time with your children and create lasting memories. The office will be open Monday-Thursday during the summer between the hours of 7:00-4:00. Let us know if you need anything.

Best summer wishes!

Mrs. Danielle Lango
